Approximately 1,200 residents were evacuated from South Lake VIllage, after the power outage, due to saftey concerns.
A campus wide power outage occurred, last Wednesday, March 14, 2012 due to the failure and loss of power of two switch cabinets, near the music building. North Lake Village and main campus had the power back on within one hour after the outage occurred. South Lake residents, however did not receive power until approximately four hours after the outage, resulting in an evacuation from the dorms. South Lake dorms were officially opened back up to residents at approximately 5 p.m. on Thursday. Click here to view the video.
