Eaglepalooza's performers have been announced: It's Mims and Sean Paul.

Campus Recreation, one of the departments that puts the outdoor event together every year, released the names of the performers via live feed on its Web site. Veto cuts Senate budget

Student Government President Isaac Roman asserted his power in Tuesday night's Senate meeting. Roman vetoed a bill passed by Senate a week earlier that allocated this year's Senate a $22,800.75 budget. H1N1 vaccine available

H1N1 will not be as much of a threat on FGCU's campus. Student Health Services has begun to provide vaccinations aganist the virus. H1N1 vaccinations come in two forms, a nasal spray and an injection. Student Health Services has been distributing both to students, free of charge and will continue to do so every Tuesday as long as supplies are available.… Post the First Comment

Students praise Estero Parkway bridge

Being a commuter student just got a little easier for some students. Estero Parkway, an overpass connecting Ben Hill Griffin Parkway, to Three Oaks Parkway opened Oct. 23. The overpass is expected to cut traffic on Corkscrew Road by 10,000 cars a day. The opening of the bridge is particularly accommodating for commuter students who reside in Coastal Village, a student living community, whose complex is made up of 70 to 80 percent of FGCU students, according to Cretta Hendley, a listing agent of Coastal Village.… Post the First Comment

A summer field trip to the island of San Salvador in the Bahamas brought FGCU students closer to the reality of a persisting problem on the Island - potcakes. A potcake is a stray dog. Delta Delta Delta, changing body image talk

More than 10 million women in the United States are affected by eating disorders. The Epsilon Alpha chapter of Delta Delta Delta sorority at FGCU is raising awareness about negative body image through the second annual "Fat Talk Free Week." The international five-day body activism campaign challenged students to refrain from conversation about the "thin ideal," which refers to the unrealistic standard of beauty presented by society.… 2 Comments

Vandalism revokes water trampoline privileges
FGCU's signature waterfront item is no longer permanent. The water trampoline at the lakefront was removed earlier in the week because of continual vandalism.
