The ability to walk is something most people take for granted.

Waking up eight or nine times a night due to a weak bladder followed by legs that tremble five to 10 minutes every time you get up is a problem that most people would find unimaginable. But this has become the norm for Sean Giblin, a freshman majoring in social work.

Year three at NCAA Division I play is in the books for the men's basketball team. With only one year left before postseason eligibility, two questions remain: Will coach Dave Balza be back and where does the team go from here?

Since joining the Atlantic Sun Conference for Division I play in 2007, the Eagles have gone 10-21, 11-20 and 8-21.

In order to prove their lofty pre-season rhetoric true - regal words and plans that belie their mid-major standing - FGCU's baseball team (7-4) must take care of fellow Atlantic Sun foes.

After combating with the early portion of their difficult schedule respectfully, with a 3-game sweep of Temple and losing two of three to 24th-ranked Wichita State being most noteworthy, the Eagles begin conference play at USC Upstate.
For some FGCU students, spring break included all three because they joined thousands of moviegoers across the country who watched Tim Burton's version of "Alice in Wonderland."
The 2008 Academy Awards were historic - and awkward. Kathryn Bigelow and her independent movie "The Hurt Locker" went up against James Cameron's blockbuster "Avatar" for several awards, including "Best Director" and "Best Picture."

It wasn't the first time the two directors were at odds: Bigelow and Cameron divorced in 1991 after being married for two years.

Nothing annoys me more than planning and arranging my schedule months ahead of time just to have something come out of left field and ruin those masterly crafted plans. I plan my classes to make sure I am available to work, keep up with my responsibilities at home and have time to do my reading and homework.

Hello, FGCU,
The e-mail this week asks, "Why are job fairs important, and when is the next one?"

Let me start off by saying that job fairs are vital to your success here at FGCU. I am often amused by questions like this because students often forget why they come to college- to better equip themselves for life in the business world.
