Student dies in dorm Tuesday

Daniel Langfelder, a sophomore majoring in psychology, died in his dorm in building "P" Tuesday night.

A vigil will be held for Langfelder's family and friends at 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, at the Chiki Hut in North Lake Village.

Langfelder was found by his roommate and was not breathing. "EMT was unable to revive him," said Ken Schexnayder, assistant vice president for community relations.

Emergency medical transportation, University Police and Lee County Majors Crime Crew responded. The cause of death has yet to be determined.

This was Langfelder's first year at FGCU; he was a transfer student
